Significance: A Significance Series Novel Description

Maggie is a seventeen year old girl who's had a bad year. She was smart and on track but then her mom left, her dad is depressed, she's graduating, barely, and her boyfriend of almost three years dumped her for a college football schalorship. Lately she thinks life is all about hanging on by a thread and is gripping tight with everything she has. Then she meets Caleb. She saves his life and instantly knows there's something about him that's intriguing but she is supposed to be on her way to a date with his cousin. But things change when they touch, sparks ignite. Literally. They imprint with each other and she sees their future life together flash before her eyes. She learns that not only is she his soul mate, and can feel his heartbeat in her chest, but there is a whole other world of people with gifts and abilities that she never knew existed. She herself is experiencing supernatural changes unlike anything she's ever felt before and she needs the touch of his skin to survive. Shelly Crane will not disappont you with this Significance. Great story, believable characters. This book had me from start to finish. I am more than half way through the second book of this series now...and it is just as great.

I can't believe this story only has one review. Significance has romance, adventure, funny dialougue, an amazing supportive family, and some magical powers that come along when you find your one true love (your significant). This book really amazed me. I was not expecting much because it was only a dollar, but I enjoyed every minute of reading this story. You think that once a conflict is resolved everything will finally get better, but the fun part is when it just gets worse. Five stars to Shelly Crane. I can't wait for the next book!

Really, read this book. If you need a good YA book that has the right amount of teen romance this is the book for you. Even after a week of reading it, I still get a smile on my face just by thinking about how Caleb and Maggy meet. BUY THE BOOK!

Although the book had an interesting story line the execution was painful, even at .99 cents. Lots of issues with grammar, spelling, formatting and general rules of English. What really got me was the extra page "fat". Sometimes the dialog and the back dialog (back flash dialog which was already covered in the story) was just painful. I actually thought,"Hey Shelly I'm readying the book I don't need a refresher in the same book". I found myself just pressing the button over and over again to move along since what should have been a couple of pages turned into 15. There was one part of the book where the author actually started 5/6 sentences with the same beginning. My High School English teacher would have freaked out. When I read it that's exactly what I thought too. So it is really distracting from the story. Which I think was actually interesting.

I also couldn't stomach the constant insecurity of the main characters. You only love me because you have to - No I love you - No I love you - Your gorgeous - You are my sweetheart - okay I love you - are you sure?.... OMG. Okay, I thought they imprinted so why are they so insecure about it? Just somewhat confusing and not consistent with the story line concept of imprinting.

Also some of the overall illogical jumps. Okay, not a super big deal but for example in the book they say imprinting happen around 22 years of age since that's a proper age to marry. However, imprinting has been happening for 300 years (think well story at the Watson compound) and back then people married usually at puberty (maybe somewhat later too), basically, because most died very young in today's standards. So that made zero sense and Maggie will die without Caleb but it's scandalous for her to need to sleep (just sleep) with your imprinted significant other that protects you and keeps you healthy. That part just seemed completely stupid. Really, supposedly they all understood what was happening (except her Dad) but because she's almost 18 and he's 19 he's too old and she's too young. The behavior was just not that logical to me. It seemed it was a MUST have not a WANT to have. Okay maybe both but really if you will die without your significant and someone can kill you in your dreams then what is the scandal? I couldn't figure out the drama behind it. Get married and get it over with since they will be together forever anyway. I believe in Tennessee you can marry young and people do it all the time.

Overall I would have liked the book better had the story moved along quicker and I wouldn't have been so distracted by what an editor might have caught and said, "cut that out". Maybe let your fans read early copies and provide feedback? So good story but I see the next one is more expensive. It seems the author has not corrected the same issues so they still exist in the second book. Maybe the third one will be better since the second sounds like a tweener anyway.
