The Carhartt Waterproof Breathable Acadia Jacket is unlined and will keep you dry during the rainy months. This lightweight jacket has a nylon ripstop shell with water-repellent finish that repels water and resists tearing. On the inside is a waterproof, breathable membrane with Carhartt logo print. Carhartt added a roll-up hood/collar with hook-and-loop fastener for added protection when you need it. The fully taped seams and elastic hook-and-loop adjustable cuffs help provide complete waterproof protection. Storage includes two lower-front slash pockets with zipper closures and storm flaps. The Carhartt Waterproof Breathable Acadia Jacket also features pleated elbows, full length front zipper, adjustable draw-cord hem with barrel-lock adjusters, triple stitched main seams.

Compared a simular jacket my wife purchased from other outdoor apparel company, made of the same material, at a somewhat lower price. Construction is superior by double with all seams and features. Carhartt lives up to their image.

This is a good-functioning water proof jacket. It looks great on the outside when it is zipped, but the inside looks somewhat sloppy. The jacket only consists of one layer made out of the rubbery material (white/green pattern on the inside), and the pockets are made out of a black mesh material, and when jacket is unzipped, you can see these black things hanging on the inside of the jacket. If the pockets were made out of white mesh material, or same material as the jacket, it would look better and less noticeable, but they are not. I saw many rain jackets hide the pockets by putting another layer of usually mesh material on the inside of the jacket, but I guess that makes fabric less breathable and more bulky. So, overall good jacket, but for that money, the makers should have worked a little bit more on making the inside of a jacket look as good as the outside.

This jacket is comfortable and waterproof. I ran it under the faucet for several seconds just to be sure. It's very light, and I tend to keep it rolled up in my laptop bag. The inside does have a rubbery texture, as some reviewers have commented, but that doesn't bother me. There's a velcro strap designed to hold the hood if you want roll it up and go 'hoodless'.
The size I ordered is also right. It's made to fit comfortably over heavier clothing such as sweaters.
