Peg Perego USA IPKR28US35RO53 Review by SSL (Brooklyn, NY United States)

We spent about $200 for this stroller, and to say the least, I am not happy with it. My old one, a cheapo one from Babies R Us was much easier to use, albeit with few extras.

First, two things I do like: the sun shade, which is very big, and it has a basket (but see below).

What I don't like:

It must weigh about 4 times what my old one did, and take up 2-3 times as much space. I live in NYC and take the subway a lot. When my daughter was younger, I would just pick up the whole thing with her inside to carry up and down the stairs. Not going to happen with this one, not even with a one-year old inside. I also can not put it in the car with just one hand.

Old one closed and opened with ease; this one is a hassle. EVERY single time I open it, I have to put the front flap down. OK, there's a reason for it to fold down, yada yada, BUT, it's a royal PITA to have to make this adjustment every time.

Even before that flap comes the four step open! Open clasp, make sure it opens wide snapping into place, then each side of the seat has to snap into place. HUH? Am I missing something? Is there a reason this isn't automatic?

Closing is a pain, too. Pull up on the things (I don't know what they're called) on the handlebars, then pull up on the thing on the back. I can never make this happen easily. Pulling up with my foot underneath the bottom doesn't work most of the time, which means that I somehow have to hook my shoe into the pull or bend down and do it with my hand. This almost always ends with me closing the stroller down to the floor. Not cool.

The handlebars are also too high for me, 5'2", even at the lowest setting.

Additionally, it feels flimsy as I push the stroller, and I can't go over even small bumps easily. My daughter goes flying out if she's not buckled (she's almost 4, hates to walk, but also hates being buckled). I never had this problem with my other one.

I might force the issue with strapping her in, but the harness is not easy to use. It's a FIVE-point harness, and as far as I can see, you can not use it as a three-point harness. It's all or nothing.

Which brings me to another problem: the most forward recline is too far back. My daughter can not sit sup straight, unless she is not strapped in, or only harnessed loosely. And in that case, she's not leaning against anything---not very comfortable.

I didn't even attach the cup/bottle holder, it's just too small to be useful.

And the last drawback I can think of now: it's hard to put anything IN to the basket, as the back is closed off and there's not much room on the sides, plus I don't think I'd trust it to hold even one half-gallon bottle of milk.

Overall, this is not an easy stroller to use for quick, short trips. It's just not worth the adjustments that have to be made. I've begun having my daughter walk rather than have to fuss with the stroller. (Not necessarily a BAD thing, as she IS almost four, BUT did I buy a new stroller to force her to walk?) I have had this stroller for about 2 months now, and am still seriously considering buying another $20 one. This may be a good stroller for an infant, I can't say, but what's the point in a max weight of 45 lbs, if it doesn't accommodate an older child well?

Let me start with this is the umbrella stroller with the biggest canopy I've ever seen, even if the sun is directly on his face I just incline to the second position and it's gone. It is very light and easy to fold (really ONE hand). The green is really cute and not as bright as it looked on the picture. I have very long legs and the handles are high enough that I don't kick the back of the stroller (as I read on one of the reviews and was a little worried about it). Now the reason for my 4 stars: There is no place for parents to put your cellphone or keys, a little pocket on the back of the canopy would have been doable and great, like I've seen in other umbrella strollers. I actually don't think there's a stroller out there that has it all, the Maclaren has the pocket but the canopy is a lot smaller than the Pliko Mini, so you just have to figure out what exactly you are looking for and what are you whiling to give it away. I live where it's really hot and sunny, so my main thing was the canopy, and you can buy a little strap pocket thing that you attach on the handles. Before you fold it make sure you lock the front wheels so the stroller stands by itself otherwise you have to move them a little to the right position. One last thing, when you unfold it the front of the seat has to lock, before I realized that the stroller almost folded with my son on it, all you have to do is kinda press back on the handles and once you get a hang of it it's no trouble. Overall I really like this stroller and don't regret buying it.

We got this light stroller for a trip to NYC for our 2-month old baby. We did not want to carry our Pliko P3 with us on the plane and decided to buy this Peg-Perego Mini and have it delivered just one day before we arrived to the hotel.

Since the age of our baby, we needed a stroller that recline, so our baby can sleep on it and this stroller has just worked perfectly for our trip and our baby!! Don't know how many light stroller, besides Maclaren, recline 3 positions as this ones does.

The experience was terrific. It is super light, very easy to fold (you can do it with just one hand - you can't fold and unfold a Maclaren with just one hand!), and it has a really good quality.

Cons: small basket and difficult to put things in and out... but hey... it is just an umbrella stroller!
